The TV was on in the background while I was zealously writing the previous two posts and out of nowhere this Wishbone salad dressing commercial came on that was using Spank Rock’s “Bump.” I heart Spank Rock and this is one of my favorite of his songs, mostly because of the insanely dirty rap delivered by Ms. Amanda Blank. This part, of course, was not featured…just the “bump, bump, bump” part, which isn’t all that exciting…so it was pretty useless.
Remember when Of Montreal was used in that Outback ad (and still maybe is being used, if I’m thinking straight)? The words were rewritten all horribly and I had really liked that song but soon I could never listen to it without picturing steaks from the suburbs. And now The Beta Band is being butchered in some phone ad (I think?) too.
I know it happens all the time and stuff, but I still don’t like it. And seriously, leave Spank Rock alone unless you’re gonna use the sweet naughty parts.
